So this is my first ever blog so don’t grill me too hard here. I wouldn’t say that I am the most eloquent writer by any means—more like simple and to the point.
I like to consider myself an artistic person…or at least passionate about the arts. I grew up loving music ever since i was a little kid. Having listened to all types of genres, this introduced me to the arts and using my imagination. I learned how to play the drums when I was 9 years old and continued to play over 15 years. I never really knew it until now but photography has been in my life just as long. My parents, just like many other parents, would always photograph and videotape all our trips, excursions, recitals, ceremonies, events, birthday parties—you name it you got it. My parents have boxes upon boxes of photographs from throughout the years and every now and then we will sift through the photos and reminisce about the past. Photos allow you to cherish the past, good and bad. I bought my first camera when I was about 13 years old. I remember it was a point-and-shoot Canon camera that cost me about $100 which for a 13 year old is a lot of mullah. This enabled me to document my life experiences along the way and discovered the joy of shooting.
I bought my first DSLR camera when I was in my early twenties, a Sony a57 which was a beginner’s DSLR. The camera had many amazing qualities and features, and exposed me to the digital camera world. Currently I shoot with a Cannon EOS 50D, and I am in love with Cannon and all they have to offer. They have an amazing line of products and great capabilities with their products…no I was not paid to say that, but if you want to send me some $$ that be much appreciated.
The reason why I shoot is for many reasons. I’ve had anxiety for a number of years where I suffer from panic attacks at any period of time. Photography honestly has allowed me to cope with the anxiety and to enjoy life more because it forces me to slow down and concentrate on framing the photo and capturing the appropriate lighting and color. Photography gives me the opportunity to see the world in its natural beauty.
